【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsareusedtodeterminetheresistanceofcompactedsoil-cementspecimenstorepeatedwettinganddrying.ThesetestmethodsweredevelopedtobeusedinconjunctionwithTestMethodsD560andcriteriagivenintheSoil-CementLaboratoryHandbook7todeterminetheminimumamountofcementrequiredinsoil-cementtoachieveadegreeofhardnessadequatetoresistfieldweathering.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/etc.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresfordeterminingthesoil-cementlosses,watercontentchanges,andvolumechanges(swellandshrinkage)producedbyrepeatedwettinganddryingofhardenedsoil-cementspecimens.Thespecimensarecompactedinamold,beforecementhydration,tomaximumdensityatoptimumwatercontentusingthecompactionproceduredescribedinTestMethodsD558.1.2Twotestmethods,dependingonsoilgradation,arecoveredforpreparationofmaterialformoldingspecimensandformoldingspecimensasfollows:SectionsTestMethodA,usingsoilmaterialpassingaNo.4(4.75-mm)sieve.Thismethodshallbeusedwhen100%ofthesoilsamplepassestheNo.4(4.75-mm)sieve.........7TestMethodB,usingsoilmaterialpassinga3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieve.ThismethodshallbeusedwhenpartofthesoilsampleisretainedontheNo.4(4.75-mm)sieve.Thistestmethodmaybeusedonlyonmaterialswith30%orlessretainedonthe3/4-in.(19.0-mm)sieve...................8
